When you feel like you just can’t get enough water, these simple fresh mixes are a natural electrolyte mix to help keep you nourished and hydrated all season long.
Citrus Twist
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup grapefruit juice or 4 drops grapefruit essential oil*
2 cups filtered water (or coconut water)
1 tsp raw honey**
1/8 tsp pink Himalayan salt
Put ingredients in a blender and pulse for about 30 seconds.
Serve and drink immediately
*Grapefruit interacts with many medications so be sure to check before you use
Lemon-Limeade
1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 cups filtered water (or coconut water)
1 tsp raw honey/honey to taste
1/8 tsp fine sea salt or Himalayan salt
Lemon & Lime – naturally cooling and sour, lemon and limes are incredible at regenerating body fluids lost through summer heat and sweating. They are great for harmonizing or balancing the stomach and regulating or moving Qi (or vital circulation) in the body. This helps us feel refreshed, thirst quenched and mood up lifted.
Limes are particularly great if you have a sour throat from dryness, a dry month or cough.
Adding a pinch of salt helps add back in some of the natural electrolyes that get lost through sweat. It also helps the body reabsorb fluids into the body.
